We will miss Tom on Eastholme Ave. He was a good neighbor and friend. When he would come home from being on the road, he was so talkative after the solitude of driving a truck for days on end. He would always notice changes in our garden and yard and would compliment us on it, knowing how important it was to us. When Tom and my husband (a former truck driver himself) started to "talk shop" I would slowly remove myself from our little gathering on the lawn to sneak away to work in my garden. Tom would just carry on the conversation as if he didn't notice my escape, but before he turned to go inside, he would always call out to say goodbye. I had no idea that the last time he waved good-bye to me it would really be good-bye. He will be missed.
